A Vancouver 28 is a quality, go anywhere boat, which can can be comfortably sailed singlehanded. This Vancouver is in good condition and has been well maintained and equipped.

Owner Remarks

Trumpeter has been extensively sailed by the present owner over a thirteen year period in waters around the British Isles and also as far as Spain and the Azores. She is fitted out for serious cruising.

Accommodation:

The Vancouver 28 sleeps three with two singles with lee cloths in the saloon and a large quarter berth. There is also a canvas root berth which fits over the starboard bunk. A separate toilet(Lavac) compartment is located forward with a wash hand basin a generous hanging wardrobe.

Galley:
The galley is located on the port side with a Plastimo Atlantic two burner, grill and oven. A stainless steel sink has manually pumped fresh cold water and separate sea water supply. Also located under quarter berth is a refrigerated coolbox(compressor needing regassed).

Construction:

This Vancouver 28 was designed by Robert Harris and built in 1986 by Northshore Mouldings Ltd/Pheon Yachts Ltd, both hull and decks of GRP with a long encalpsulated keel(epoxy treated 2001). The interior is fitted out in teak veneer and upholstered in maroon nylon with additional soft blue towelling covers. Antifouled May 2012.

Mechanical:
Powered by a 18hp reconditoned Yanmar 2GM20(2007) driving through an Aquadrive coupling to a fixed 2 bladed propellor.

Sails and Rigging:
Cutter rigged vessel with stainless steel standing rigging(1999), twin running backstays and spinnaker pole.
She has Selden anodised alloy mast(1999) and Furlex roller reefing on the headsail with hank on staysail arrangment.
Sail wardrobe consists of slab reefed fully battened Saturn mainsail(2003), Arun yankee genoa(2004), Arun staysail(2004 with reef), Crusader storm jib (1999) and Spinnaker.
2x Andersen 28 two speed winches, 2xAndersen 2 winches and 2xLewmar 6.

Electrics:
12V supply from two batteries(2011/2012) charged by engine alternator, 240V charger and Rutland 913 windcharger with a Driftgate X-Split charge controller.
Fitted with 240V shorepower and cable.

Tankage:
Stainless steel fuel tank 127 litre capacity.
Three flexible fresh water tanks with a total capacity 227 litres.

Water System:
Manually pumped cold fresh water system.
Manually pumped sea water supply to galley.
