Remarks :
The Atlantic 40 Ketch is a good solid cruising Yacht with ample accommodation and deck space for onboard living.The current owners have owned her since 1990 and have regularly maintained her and cruised her and consider her part of the family
Accommodation
She has 7 berths in three cabins with the main cabin situated aft with access from the cockpit with its own Heads compartment with shower.
In the main saloon there is a single berth to starboard whilst the dining area to port converts into a double berth.
In the forepeak there are two single bunks on either side with stowage lockers and hanging space agaist the inboard bulkhead.
At the fore end of the main saloon there is the Galley to Starboard and the main Heads compartment with shower to Port.
The Galley is well provided with work top and stowage space and a Calor Flavel B700 Cooker and a Waeco 65 24v Fridge.
At the base of the companion way to starboard coming out over the single berth is the cart table and Nav station. whist to port under the seats are the main battery stowage area.
Mechanical and Rigging
Designed by Walter Rayner and Built by F.C. Mitchell's in Poole in 1978 the Atlantic 40 mk11 was constructed in GRP to full 100 A1 Lloyds specification.
She is Ketch Rigged, with a long keel and centre cockpit superstructure which has a deckhouse top with toughened glass screens and wheel helm position on the starbord side, making her a very sound long distance cruising boat.
Located beneath the cenre cockpit with excellent access, The Engine is a 4 Cylinder Mercedes 314 Diesel with approx 6000 hours on since 1977 and fitted with a Borg warner 2:1 Gearbox.
The controls are Morse via a Hydraulic Gearbox The Engine system was last service in 2009.
She has 6x 12v Batteries set as 2x 12v Engine start and 4x12v as Domestic.
Shore power is also fitted.
Her Tanks comprise:-
1. 145gal Steel Fuel tank
2. 130 gal Glv steel Water tank.
3. 56 gal GRP holding tank
She is Ketched rigged with Alloy spars including spinnaker pole.
Her Canvas comprises:
1. A Crusader mainsail new in 2003.
2. A Crusader No1 Genoa new in 1999 with roller reefing/furling.
3. Kemp Mizzen sail
4. cruising shute.
5. Storm Jib
