Construction: Built in 1988 to a Holman and Pye design, and constructed by Landamores. Originall an Oyster 53, and extended to 55' in 1999.
Built of GRP, with teak interior joinery and teak laid decks. Fin keel with skeg hung rudder |
Accommodation: This boat has very spacious accommodation for up to 10 in four separate cabins. Originally designed to the requirements of its first owner for family cruising, the current owner has adapted the vessel to allow for flexible needs that have allowed him to offer the boat for charter. It is quite rare in having the necessary coding (CAT zero) for ocean sailing. There are consequently 3 water tight bulheads.
The layout consists of a large owners cabin aft with double berth and en suite heads. There is the addition of a single berth/ sofa and hingeing pipecot above giving space for up to four in this cabin.
The galley is linear and sits in the starboard walk-through. Seperate fridge and freezer, cooker, over and twin s/s sinks along with plenty of galley top space.
The saloon is bright, spacious, and with its foldover table, can seat up to 10 for dinner. The dining table is to starboard, and a seating area to port. The navigation area is also to port, with a generous chart table. Aft of this is a workshop/fourth cabin. There are twin bunks in here plus access to the engine space and various electrical systems.
Forward are two separate twin cabins and a shower/heads. One of the twin cabins has a lower bunk that can be extended to make a narrow double. Up in the bows is a walk in sail storage area.
The cockpit is a 'centre cockpit' allowing good visibility all around, and the security of being close to the middle of the boat - great for the ocean sailor. |
