Construction: Mild steel construction with 5mm hull plates welded to 75mm x 50mm frames with 950mm centres and 40mm x 40mm stringers, with a 5mm Transom,forming a radius chine Weather deck is constructed of on 4mm plates supported on 60mm x 6mm beams. Wheelhouse & Cabin structures are 4mm plate. Internally the hull has been protected by 2 coats weld through epoxy primer and on completion a further 3 coats of epoxy tar over a proprietary branded rust treatment. Externally the the underwater hull has been coated with 6 coats of epoxy tar.. Topsides and visible area’s are cream in colour and have been treated with 2 coats high build zinc rich epoxy primer, 2 coats zinc rich epoxy undercoat and two coats polyurethane Top coat, whilst the deck has been teak laid Internally the craft has been insulated with 60mm sprayed closed cell expanding foam. |
Accommodation: ‘Clarke II’ offers 6 berths in 3 separate cabins comprising of two forward cabins with 4 x 6’ long bunks and a separate owners double cabin aft the latter with en-suite facilities. A second heads compartment is located in the fore’peak and is equipped with a seatoilet, basin and shower with hot and cold pressurised water system. Aft of the forward cabins is a large lower saloon area with a ‘C’ shaped settee to port with seating for 8 and a large bureau to starboard.
Climbing 3 steps you enter the bridge deck with a dinette area to port, the well equipped galley located to starboard is equipped with a 4 burner SMEV cooker with oven, Hinari micro wave , LEC upright fridge freezer, sink with hot and cold water supply and storage cabinets. Walking through the galley you pass a navigation area before entering the aft cabin. Located inboard is access to a workshop area with bench and vice etc. All joinery is finished in Mahogany with white ceiling linings. Engines and Tankage: Auxiliary Power is provided by a Perkins 6354 6 cylinder Naturally aspirated diesel engine rated @ 125hp driving a 23 x 17 bronze propeller via a 2” stainless steel shaft through a Borg Warner velvet drive reduction 2:1 gearbox. The engine is housed under the bridge-deck and is accessed by lifting the floor, once lifted there is good all round access to the engine for servicing. Fuel is carried in 2 x tanks giving an approx capacity of 800 ltrs. Tankage: Fresh water : 1000 ltrs in 4 Tanks Black Waste : 400 ltrs 1 Tank
Domestic and heating water is provided by a 35 gallon Calorifier tank with 230vlt immersion heater & a 2nd heating coil from the Webasto heater.
ELECTRICS The ships electrical system 12 / 24 volt dc systems a 240volt ac system, and a 4kva generator with 240/110 ac & 12/24 dc outputs. Batteries are charged when running by the engine smart alternator which monitors the capacity of each battery system and charges the lowest one first.
Whilst on the berth Battery charging is carried out by a Stirling battery management system comprising of 2 x Stirling chargers and a condition monitor. A 2.8kw Inverter is also installed. A Marlec Rutland 910 wind generator is also fitted giving a constant trickle charge to the batteries |
Sails and Spars: Rigged as a Masthead cutter ketch the rig comprises of Silver anodised aluminium deck stepped mizzen and main mast & booms by Z Spars, with roller reefing systems to both the head sail and stay sail with inmast reefing to mainsail . Rigging is 10mm Norseman high tensile steel wire coated in polypropylene, laid in a herring bone fashion with the complete rigging wire then fully coated again in Polypropylene. Bottle screws are 16 mm fork end galvanised steel.
