Construction:
Mahogany on oak frames with traditional long keel.
Accommodation:
Centre cockpit with steps down to aft cabin where the chart table navigation station is, heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet with holding tank. Saloon with galley to port with Taylors paraffin cooker with twin hobs and an oven, top loading 12v refrigerator, stainless steel sink with drainer. Port and starboard settee seats. Forward cabin with V berths and infil to convert to a double.
Navigational Aids:
Nasa DSC VHF, Raymarine ST40 wind/speed/direction, Raymarine ST40 depth and log, Navtex plus, Yeoman chartplotter, Contest bulkhead compass, Nautech self steering.
Engines and Tankage:
Beta 43hp 4 cylinder diesel with Techno-drive gearbox fitted new in 2005. Aqua drive coupling new 2006 with 3 bladed propeller fitted with a rope cutter. Wired for 240v shorepower. 2 x 12v domestic 110amp/hr batteries and 1 x 95amp/hr engine battery all charged by engine driven alternator, solar panel and mains Sterling battery charger with Sterling digital voltage regulator. Black and grey water holding tanks. Pressurised hot and cold water system with hot water from calorifier. Hydraulic steering system with emergency tiller. 35 gallon diesel tank and 40 gallons fresh water.
Sails and Spars:
Ed Burnett designed a new sailplan for this boat in 2002 at which time she had a new mainmast, boom and bowsprit, all in Douglas Fir, plus new stainless steel standing rigging and new running rigging. She is now rigged as a cutter and all the foresail leads were renewed with new tracks and Barton blocks. 2002 new mainsail, rolling furling Yankee, staysail and storm staysail. Slab reefing to mainsail. Masthead spinnaker plus telescopic spinnaker pole with deck mounts.
Equipment:
Plastimo 4 person offshore liferaft, Bombard AX3 inflatable dinghy, Johnson 4hp outboard, manual anchor windlass, 35lb CQR anchor with 35m chain, Danforth kedge anchor with chain and warp, lifebuoy, jackstays, galvanised stanchions, flares, CD radio stereo, barometer and clock, brass ships bell, brass oil lamps, automatic electric and manual bilge pumps, various mooring lines and warps. Taylors paraffin cabin heater. Boathook. Stainless steel barbeque. Cockpit cover.
Remarks:
Trooper has been extensively sailed and was in the Mediterranean for some years whilst the owners cruised her. The owner says that after he had commissioned Ed Burnett to change the sail plan that she sails and handles beautifully with much improved performance. She has been well looked after and is a very nice example of this marque.
