Engines and Tankage:
Petter mini twin 2 cylinder diesel developing 12hp and driving a 3 bladed propeller with single lever morse control. 3 x 12v batteries all new 2006. Wired for 240v shore power. Adverc battery charging system fitted. 10 gallons diesel in 1 tank and 60 gallons fresh water in 1 plastic and 1 stainless steel tank. |
Sails and Spars:
Alloy mast boom and spinnaker pole with stainless steel standing rigging. Mainsail with slab reefing,large furling genoa, storm jib, smaller genoa, cruising shute. |
Equipment:
2 solar powered ventilators, CQR anchor with 30m chain, various warps and fenders, Dan buoy, lifebuoy, boarding ladder, sprayhood, dodgers, cockpit cushions, cockpit cover, canvas winter cover, 2 fire extinguishers, fire blanket, 2 electric and 1 manual bilge pump. |
Remarks:
Mirage 28 built by Thames Marine in GRP. Teak laid decks over marine ply and marine ply superstructure. The deck and cabin are based on a Van de Stadt design which the owner had built earlier. The cabin is larger than the standard Mirage and has standing headroom. The engine was removed by the main agent and overhauled 7 years ago. The superstructure above deck level was rebuilt 4 years ago and epoxied at that time. She is a nice family cruiser that has been strongly built with good looking teak decks. The hull has been professionaly painted 2008. |
