Remarks:
Hull constructed of C-Flex. C-Flex is widely used in fibreglass construction methods in North America. It is a fibreglass sheeting material that is made up of fibreglass rods alternating with bundles of unsaturated roving. C-Flex is immensely strong because it is a unidirectional reinforced fabric and is considerably stronger lengthwise than normal fibreglass matt. The molded hull shape is then completely saturated with resin and a fibreglass laminate is overlaid to the required thickness.The hull is then faired with epoxy filler. The owner has drilled through the topsides to put in scuppers and reports that in these areas the hull is ½ -3/4 inch thick. Epoxy coated plywood decks with GRP doghouse and wooden cockpit with teak laid sole and seats. These Peter Ibold designs have been world cruised with considerable success. All new deck hatches 2003. |
