Pitch Pine Planking on Oak frames
Over the last twenty years Venture has been re-planked to the waterline with pitch pine planking and galvanized rose head nails. New garboards fitted with Si-Bronze screws. A new Hog, A new cast iron ballast keel and new keel bolts. New Oak beams and Pine Clamp fitted. A new composite Ply and Pitch pine deck was fitted in 89. A new cabin trunk and roof fitted in 01. A new galley fitted in 03. New Oak frames and floors fitted in 87. A new Oak rudder in 87.

December 06: Engine removed and being replaced with another rebuilt BMC 1.5 diesel. A new marine Calorifer of 15 l capacity, heated by a 1.0Kw immersion heater or the engine is being installed. A new Vetus plastic 80 l diesel tank is also being fitted in January. The cockpit has been rebuilt to complete this installation.

She has a double bunk forward and two single bunks in the saloon. A Jabsco marine loo is situated between the two cabins and hanging locker opposite. Cabin heating is provided by a Hunter Hawk multi-fuel stove in a tiled surround. An Oak table with drop leaves is between the bunks. The galley to starboard has lots of storage space a new SMEV 2 burner with oven and a stainless steel sink with cold pressurised water from a new 150l flexible tank. The chart table to port has a lifting lid for chart stowage.
