Construction:
Hand layup heavy GRP hull, decks and superstructure. Hull colour is maroon, white decks with Treadmaster non slip. Wheel steering with optional tiller. Teak interior joinery.
Accommodation:
5 berths in two cabins, a v double in the forepeak two singles in the saloon with a starboard pilot berth. Seperate heads compartment with sink. Galley has twin stainless steel sinks, twin burner gas gimballed cooker with grill & oven, Engel 24/220v fridge/freezer. Shore power ring main.
Navigational Aids:
Speed, log, wind speed & direction, compass, depth sounder, autohelm, Decca Navstar 2000, clock and barometer.
Engines and Tankage:
35hp 4 cyl SOLE (Mitsubishi based) diesel engine, approx 460hrs. Shaft drive to propellor, via Aquadrive. 6kts cruising. 40 gallons diesel tank & 40 gallons fresh water. Pressurised freshwater system with H&C to galley & heads.
Sails and Spars:
Ketch rig, 1987 genoa Colnebrook roller furling. In mast reefing mainsail system 1990, tan with sail covers and U/V protection strips. Kemp silver anodised masts, Lewmar winches.
Equipment:
25lb CQR anchor, plough kedge. Life bouys, warps etc.
Remarks:
Rugged, tough, traditional, cozy, safe. All suitable adjectives to describe these "little ships" which are capable of making good comfortable passage against the wind as a motor sailor, or enjoyable sailing when the winds are in a more favourable direction. This particular example is very well appointed with many extras and a full documented history. Due to ill health "Starfish" has not been used for some 18 months, so whilst she is looking forward to sprucing up here and there, she is ready to go!
